Granite Ridge Intermediate

Part of the Clovis Unified School District

About CNEC - Granite Ridge

A large white building stands prominently in front of a well-maintained green lawn, showcasing a serene outdoor setting. Our district's founding father Dr. Floyd Buchanan, preached "it's people not programs" and "if you want to be a winner you need to surround yourself with winners." The cornerstone of any good organization is the quality of its people. We hire educators who are role models, willing to work together, filled with a passion to serve their community, and committed to providing the very best educational experience possible for our students.

We also believe "the greater the expectation the greater the achievement." The bar will be set very high in regard to achievement, effort, and attitude for our students, staff and community, as we form a partnership to provide exemplary academic and co-curricular programs. We will do everything first class! Finally, one of our district's most important core values is embodied in the statement "a fair break for every kid." We are committed to establishing a safe and inclusive environment, with relevant and rigorous programs that are designed to meet the needs of all students.

CNEC Mission

Clovis North Educational Center's mission is “To build a unified campus that inspires students to maximize their performance in mind, body and spirit.” All resources at our site - both human and physical - are selected, cultivated, and deployed with a laser-focus to ensure that our students learn and achieve excellence. Thus, our schoolwide learner outcomes address the whole student.

Clovis North’s vision and educational beliefs stem from the district’s core values, which are based on the educational philosophy of CUSD’s first superintendent, Dr. Floyd Buchanan, who charged each school to provide “a fair break for every kid” and to value “people, not programs.” We strive to build a unified campus that inspires ALL students to maximize their performance in mind, body, and spirit. Every day, we do our best to provide students with a rigorous, relevant, and standards-based curriculum that spurs them to develop and use critical thinking and problem-solving skills and to communicate their learning creatively and effectively.  We also strive to build a community in which all students feel connected and are celebrated for their unique contributions to our school.  To this end, we teach and model the “Code of the North” as a way of building good character in our students.
