CONCUSSION TRAINING & HEAT ILLNESS PREVENTION INFORMATION: ALL coaches must complete/renew concussion and heat illness prevention training when certifying/renewing CPR, AED, and First Aid. These Trainings are free 20-minute online courses that can be accessed from the NFHS website at NFHS Learn.  Once on the website, you must Register (or sign in). Next, you click on “Course” then “Concussions in Sports” or “Heat Illness Prevention.” These courses are free so you will not be charged, however, you have to “order” the courses and go through the entire order process in order to have access to the course. You will then be directed back to the “dashboard” where you can begin the course. Upon completion of each course, you must download and print the Certificate of Completion and give a copy to your site.  These certifications expire when your CPR expires.

CARDIAC SCIENCE TRAINING INFORMATION: Effective July 1, 2015, ALL coaches must complete/renew cardiac science training when certifying/renewing CPR, AE, D, and First Aid.  Cardiac Science Training is a free online course that can be accessed from the following site at NFHS Learn Once on the website, follow these steps to do the CardiacWise Online Course:  On the front page click on “enroll now”, follow the instructions which say to watch the video and then click on take quiz.  When you have finished the quiz you can print out your certificate. Please turn in a copy of your Certificate to your Athletic Office/Office Manager.

Renewal candidates can complete a blended program.  The blended program consists of an online portion of tutorials and then a practical portion where you perform what you have learned in front of a CPR-certified instructor.  The athletic director will send an email to get you signed up.  An email will be sent to you with the link to the online portion.  Once completed with the online portion get back in touch with athletics so they can schedule your practical portion with an instructor.
